Dr. Dar is a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist specializing in cataract, glaucoma, and refractive surgery (LASIK & PRK), as well as comprehensive eye care. Having done thousands of eye surgeries, he has years of experience in micro-incision cataract surgery, in which he utilizes the latest laser-assisted techniques and advanced intraocular lenses—including toric, multifocal, and trifocal options—to reduce dependence on glasses. He is also fellowship-trained in glaucoma, performing a range of laser procedures, traditional glaucoma surgeries, and minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries (MIGS).

Dr. Dar earned his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and the University of Minnesota. He completed his residency at George Washington University, where he was named Chief Resident, followed by fellowship training at Columbia University. A dedicated educator, he has trained ophthalmology residents in cataract surgery at Columbia University and lectures at George Washington University.

An active researcher, Dr. Dar has been published in many peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Glaucoma. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Glaucoma Society, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

Fluent in Urdu, Hindi, and Spanish, Dr. Dar also volunteers his time on surgical mission trips, providing advanced eye care in underserved regions of countries such as Ecuador and Guatemala. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling with family, playing guitar, and staying active through soccer, tennis, basketball, and biking.
